The challenge

The State Buildings has been Perth's civic heart since 1875. At the geographic and cultural centre of the city, it brings together COMO The Treasury, Wildflower, Post, Petition, and Long Chim, plus bars, galleries, and retailers under one roof.

The digital presence told a different story. Eight standalone websites created brand fragmentation, complicated the guest journey between venues, and placed a considerable administrative burden on the team. The richness of the physical precinct was not reflected in the experience navigating it online.

A destination of this significance deserved a single digital home worthy of it.

The solution

Working in close partnership with the State Buildings team, Juicebox unified eight websites into one cohesive editorially rich platform, consolidating brand, booking architecture, and content management into a single, high-performance experience.

The tech

Behind the interface, a modern headless tech stack gives the State Buildings team real-time control over content across the entire precinct. Automated event workflows ease manual admin burden. The Shopify ecommerce and Seven Rooms booking architecture simplifies complex funnels and prioritises the mobile experience.

The platform is built with future capability in mind, ready to grow as the precinct's digital maturity evolves.

The design language

Translating TCYK’s brand identity into the digital space, the interface brings to life a primary UI background gradient palette that shifts with the six Noongar Seasons.

This seasonal cadence is balanced with design elements drawn directly from the precinct itself: the restraint of the grand Postal Hall, the precision of Victorian architecture informing refined UI interactions such as swipe-able venue carousels and pinch-to-zoom menu previews.

Every interaction is considered to reflect the sophistication of the physical location.
