Kleenheat Spark has been recognised in the 2026 Australian Good Design Awards, Australia's longest-running international design awards, for excellence in design, innovation and impact.
This year’s Awards are presented under the theme Design that Leads - celebrating the critical role of design in navigating complexity, driving innovation and creating positive change.
At a time of unprecedented social, environmental and technological change, this year’s theme recognises that good design is more than an outcome, it is a powerful way of thinking, imagining and acting. It challenges us to question what is, envision what could be and design better products, services, places and systems for people and planet.
Among this year’s Award Winners is Kleenheat Spark, which received a prestigious 2026 Australian Good Design Award Winner in the Digital Design Web Design and Development category.
“The Jury recognises Kleenheat Spark as an exceptional reimagining of a complex and traditionally fragmented customer journey, transforming solar adoption into a clear, transparent and user-led digital experience. The integration of real-time aerial mapping, instant quoting and verified installer coordination within a seamless interface demonstrates sophisticated design and technical execution. By condensing a weeks-long process into an eight-minute self-directed journey, the platform successfully builds trust in a low-confidence category while delivering strong commercial and environmental outcomes at scale. The Jury commends the team for setting a new benchmark for digital design in the energy sector."
Juicebox served as Kleenheat's design and technology partner for the venture, supporting the delivery of the Kleenheat Spark brand and identity, user experience design and underlying platform build.
"Kleenheat asked us to take a trusted brand into a category people don't trust, and make it simple enough to use without ever making it feel simplistic. A Good Design Award is a genuinely rare thing to win, and this team earned it."- Chris Nelson, Founder, Juicebox
Kleenheat Spark brings together everything a customer needs in one place, replacing what is often a weeks-long research process with a guided experience that provides tailored recommendations, quality products, verified installers and upfront pricing, including available rebates. Juicebox shaped this into a seamless, trustworthy platform experience that reflects Kleenheat's long-standing commitment to clarity, value and simplicity.
"The idea for Kleenheat Spark came from a systemic review of the electrification landscape - we knew that Kleenheat’s history in the energy market was valuable, and we wanted a growth area that could take us into new frontiers. We always had the principles of customer-led design, combined with an agile, iterative research program to direct our course" - Chelsea Gray, Digital, Data and Improvement Manager at Kleenheat.
The 2026 Australian Good Design Awards Ceremony will take place on Friday 9 October at the International Convention Centre (ICC) Sydney, bringing together more than 1,000 guests from across design, architecture, engineering, business, government and the wider creative industries.
Good Design Australia Managing Director Rachel Wye said the range of projects recognised in 2026 reflected the role design now plays across the economy and community.
“Design is an important economic and social capability. It influences the products we create, the services we rely on, the policies we develop and the way organisations respond to complex problems,” Ms Wye said.
“This year’s Award winners are addressing energy costs, healthcare, environmental degradation, artificial intelligence, disaster preparedness, accessibility and community wellbeing.
“Australia has an extraordinary design community and an opportunity to use that capability to strengthen our economy, improve lives and build industries that can compete internationally.”
Congratulations to our wonderful client and team.
