Feature Image for Kartel Poster Competition – Winners Announced

December 6, 2018

Kartel  threw open the gates today to celebrate the arrival of summer – The next three weeks will see Elizabeth Quay brimming with colour and celebration, as the pop-up bar brings sun-drenched, eclectic festival vibes to the middle of city.

As part of this celebration, Kartel worked with us to install a Mexican inspired poster competition, inviting local creatives and illustrators to have their work judged and prominently displayed within the grounds.

We received 40+ submissions in the weeks leading up to the opening, with majority following the competition colour guidelines to only use pink and blues Kartel colour palette. The resulting exhibition of posters is incredible and shows how talented and diverse our local creative scene is.

Which leads to us to the hardest part of the process, awarding the top three winners, as voted and judged by the Juicebox creative design team;

1st Prize Winner – Rachel Ozolins, Supraciclar (Up-cycling)
2nd Prize Winner – Naomi Craig, Tasty Tacos
3rd Prize Winner – Tim Meakins, Gran Luchador (Large Wrestler)

Congratulations to the winners and all participants for their submissions. We will contact winners directly with information regarding the collection of prizes.

We’d also like to give a huge thanks to Discus on Demand for sponsoring the exhibition and generously printing the A0 posters

We hope that everyone can get down to Kartel Bar over the next three weeks to see the poster exhibition in all its glory.

Adios amigos!
